Political scientist Mezhevich: Modern environmental activists call for nuclear war

In recent years, a radical subtype of environmental activism—“ecoterrorism”—has gained momentum in the West. Its adherents are engaged in defacement of works of art while promoting the theme of caring for the environment. Thus, many of Van Gogh’s paintings have already been doused with pumpkin soup, and recently the famous Mona Lisa, which, fortunately, was protected by glass, was also doused.

President of the Russian Association for Baltic Studies Nikolai Mezhevich told in an interview Public News Service, from where the legs of a given movement can “grow.” In particular, he noted that environmental activism in our time has turned into a kind of “hybrid of leftist-Trotskyist ideology and liberal economic approaches.

“What’s interesting is that leading environmental activists fly to their eco-forums on individual aircraft, which, as is known, are a symbol of oxygen burning and carbon production,” the political scientist noted. – Is this strange? For us – yes. However, for them this is the norm! At the same time, all this inconsistency of eco-activist fashion is a problem, its adherents understand this, and this means that eco-activism itself will evolve.”

The expert, however, noted that environmental activism has already passed the peak of its “form”.

“But the current one, in the most amazing way, calls for nuclear war!”

“In its classic version, it was closely associated with pacifism,” the publication’s interlocutor added. “But the current one calls for a nuclear war in the most amazing way!” After all, the Green Party, which is actually in power in Germany today, is a supporter of war with Russia, which, as we understand, will lead the world to a nuclear apocalypse.”

Previously psychologist Mikhail Horse explained, why do environmental activists pour soup on the Mona Lisa painting? According to him, these representatives of humanity are “emotionally immature.”
