The study was conducted on 3,274 women, and the results showed that patients with both diseases had a 2.6-fold increased risk.

More than a quarter of women with metabolic syndrome were infected with high-risk HPV, which may indicate an increased risk of infection. It is believed that this may be due to a weakened immune response and chronic inflammation. More research is needed to confirm this hypothesis.

It is important to note that HPV vaccination protects against the most dangerous strains and reduces the risk of developing cervical cancer.
