Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on the West’s reluctance to participate in the investigation into the crash of the Russian Il-76 military transport aircraft in the Belgorod region on January 24.
According to him, Western countries are afraid that the results of investigative measures will reveal their involvement in the plane crash, which resulted in the death of 65 captured soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“The West is withdrawing from participation in the investigation of the Il-76 crash, fearing that it will “expose itself” as a result,” a Kremlin official emphasized during a briefing on Thursday, February 1.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that an Il-76 in the Belgorod region was hit by a MIM-104A missile from an American Patriot air defense system. More about this read in the material of the Public News Service.
