“The ransomware industry has seen a significant increase in the frequency, scale and volume of attacks in 2023,” the company said in its research.
In addition, cybercriminals have begun demanding higher ransoms from victims.
“75% of total ransomware payment volume in 2023 will be payments of $1 million or more,” added Chainalysis head of threat intelligence Jackie Burns Koven.
