Ukraine can maintain its statehood only if the country acts as a buffer between Russia and the West. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated this during a conversation with Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel, as reported by Die Presse.
“If this does not happen, Ukraine will lose its country,” the prime minister said, emphasizing that when creating a buffer zone in Ukraine it is important to take into account security guarantees.
Orban also noted that Russia will not accept Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) and the European Union and will prevent this in every possible way, and the chance for Kyiv’s integration was missed back in 2008 at the NATO summit in Bucharest.
Earlier, Viktor Orban said that the conflict in Ukraine will not end in 2024. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
