On Sakhalin, two cars collided head-on, three people died

An accident involving two cars occurred in the Sakhalin region. As a result of the incident, three people were killed and two more were injured. This follows from a statement from the local State Traffic Inspectorate.

It is emphasized that the car accident occurred on Monday, at half past nine in the morning local time, at the 514th kilometer of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk-Okha highway.

“According to preliminary data, a 38-year-old female driver of a Toyota Mark II, while intoxicated, lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Toyota Chaser,” the traffic police press service said in a statement.

As a result of the incident, two passengers of one foreign car and another woman who was in the second car died on the spot from their injuries. The driver and seven-year-old girl passenger of the Toyota Chaser were taken to a medical facility. Representatives of the State Traffic Inspectorate are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
