NYT: Iran’s leader orders to avoid direct conflict with US

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered direct military confrontation with the United States to be avoided amid attacks on American bases. The New York Times reports this with reference to sources in Iran.

It is alleged that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council held an emergency meeting this week. The publication’s sources reported that after conveying his plans to the Ayatollah, he gave a direct order: to avoid war with the United States and distance Tehran from the actions of groups carrying out attacks on American military bases in Syria and Iraq.

Earlier, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the United States has at its disposal armed forces with greater potential and means than its opponents in the Middle East. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
