Russian oil companies will have to increase the production of winter diesel fuel. Such an order voiced Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak at a meeting on the domestic petroleum products market.
The production of winter diesel will be increased for the needs of the domestic market and for northern deliveries, the government press service notes.
In addition, Novak instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, together with regional authorities, to continue monitoring the prices of intermediaries when selling fuel to farmers. In problem regions, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will have to organize inspections of price reductions at gas stations and in the small wholesale segment in accordance with price dynamics on the stock exchange.
It was also noted at the meeting that the situation with prices for petroleum products in the retail segment is stable, exchange and small wholesale prices, as well as fuel costs for agricultural producers are decreasing.
Earlier, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Finance Alexei Sazanov said in an interview with Vedomosti that the increase in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in July – September 2023 was caused by the actions of reseller companies supplying petroleum products for export.
