Nikita Mikhalkov said that actors are afraid of losing media exposure

Director Nikita Mikhalkov announced a decline in acting levels in Russia and abroad. He noted that actors are afraid of losing media exposure.

“Today media exposure is earned in a completely different way,” the filmmaker noted in a conversation with AiF in Tula.

He pointed to multi-part projects consisting of several seasons, in particular, the series “Sklifosovsky”. “The first season, the second, the fifth, the tenth. And you can’t shave your beard, you’re condemned,” the speaker emphasized.

According to him, the loss of media exposure is a “terrible thing” because it leads to loss of income and popularity.

“And to act in such a way that they don’t even recognize you as an actor is also very scary, and very few people can do it. I’m not even talking about what he wants,” the artist added.

Earlier, director Alexander Adabashyan told how People’s Artist of the USSR Oleg Yankovsky got a role in the film “Flights in a Dream and in Reality” instead of Nikita Mikhalkov. More about this read in the material of the Public News Service.
