According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, since the start of the operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Defense Forces have already destroyed 17 of the 24 Hamas battalions, but the remaining units continue to be active in the south of the enclave.
“To date, we have eliminated 17 of the 24 battalions. Most of the remaining battalions are in the south of the Gaza Strip and in Rafah, and we will reach them,” Netanyahu said at a government meeting.
The politician stressed that the main focus is on completing the “cleanup operation,” which includes the complete destruction of underground infrastructure. Netanyahu said Israel does not intend to end the conflict in Gaza until all goals are achieved, including the elimination of Hamas, the release of all hostages and the security of Israel with assurances that Gaza will no longer pose a threat.
It was previously reported that during the ongoing siege and shelling in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military attacked the building of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and the Al-Amal Hospital, leading to the death of three refugees and the director of the organization’s youth volunteers department, Hedaya Hamad.
