Navarra Sports Games will begin in September with a budget of more than 1.3 million

The Navarre Sports Institute (IND) has convened the 37th edition of the Navarra Sports Games and has established the basic criteria that will regulate them. The budget has increased to 1,345,000 euros and the competition includes 38 sports modalities for minors between 8 and 18 years of age.
This program has been running for 36 years and represents a unified offer aimed at the school-age population of Navarra, between 8 and 18 years of age, guaranteeing free participation and equal access to sports with a playful, playful, and healthy nature. The Sports Games of Navarra constitute the only official competition of the Foral Community that determines the champions of the sports summoned in the different categories. The general organization of the games corresponds to the sports federations of Navarra, through a collaboration agreement with the IND.
The overall budget for the program amounts to 1,345,000 euros, which represents an increase of 45,000 euros compared to the previous edition. The highest item is dedicated to organization expenses of the federations (936,205.62 euros), followed by bus transportation (340,000 euros), televised broadcast of finals (35,000 euros), medals, trophies, and txapelas (19,794.38), accident insurance (12,000 euros) and digitized edition of the report (2,000 euros).
The main objective of the Navarra Sports Games is to enable the participation of the entire population of Navarra in the categories and sports modalities called, focusing on the educational nature and the promotion of the values of sport. It also seeks to promote an inclusive and egalitarian sports activity and promote sports modalities with little implementation or of a playful nature at these ages. Likewise, thanks to this program, the values of fair play, respect, inclusion, equality, improvement, and camaraderie are taught.
To guarantee safe sports environments, the Navarra Sports Games must comply with the Action Protocol against violence against Children and Adolescents in the field of sport and leisure for the Foral Community of Navarra approved in March of this year. In this line, the federations and clubs will have a person in charge of protection and the Navarro Sports Institute will offer specific training in violence prevention aimed at technical staff, coaches, and club managers.

The 38 planned modalities are underwater activities, chess, athletics, motor racing, badminton, basketball, handball, baseball, cycling, adapted sports, winter sports, mountain and climbing sports, fencing, soccer, gymnastics, weightlifting, here kirolak, horse riding, judo, karate, kickboxing, wrestling, swimming, paddle tennis, skating, ball, fishing, canoeing, rowing, rugby, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon, sailing, and volleyball.

Likewise, the youngest category (8, 9, and 10 years old) may be incorporated for sports initiation projects that are focused on the personal and social development of the participants and with an exclusively playful and participatory orientation.
The activities of the Navarra Sports Games will take place between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2024, adapting the calendar to the characteristics of each sport modality.
