More than 3,500 people died in the war between Israel and Hamas

In Israel and the Gaza Strip, more than 3,500 people have been killed since the start of hostilities, among the victims, more than 2,300 citizens are Palestinians, transmits Al Jazeera TV channel.

According to the channel, at least 2,329 people, including 724 children, were killed on the Palestinian side as a result of Israeli air attacks. About 9,700 more citizens were injured. On the Israeli side, about 1,300 people were killed and more than 3,400 citizens were injured. Earlier it was reported that dozens of hostages were taken prisoner by the Palestinian group Hamas.

“Tens of thousands” of Palestinians (the UN put the number at 400,000) have been forced to flee their homes since Israel called on 1.1 million people to evacuate the northern Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera writes. According to the TV channel, Israeli tanks began to appear on the border with the Gaza Strip against the backdrop of “incessant bombing.”

Military operations are underway in the Palestinian city of Ramallah in the West Bank, which is under Israeli control. There, on the morning of October 15, more than 50 people were arrested during Israeli raids, Al Jazeera writes.

“There is a feeling of unease here, not only because of the raids, but also because of the ongoing blockade. The ongoing blockade of the occupied West Bank prevents people from leaving the region and restricts travel within the region.

On October 7, Hamas militants invaded Israel, accusing its authorities of oppression and violations of the rights of Palestinians. The militants attacked IDF border units and entered populated areas, taking military and civilian hostages. The IDF responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, initiating large-scale bombing of the Gaza Strip.

On October 14, a protest took place in Tel Aviv against the policies of the Israeli government, whose participants accused Prime Minister of the Jewish State Benjamin Netanyahu of the death of hostages taken by Hamas militants. On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces announced its readiness to begin the next stage of the military operation in the Gaza Strip, which includes, among other things, a ground invasion of the territory of the Palestinian enclave.
