There were no mass refusals to issue Schengen tourist visas for citizens of the Russian Federation. The corresponding statement was made by the director of the first European department of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Artem Studennikov, during a conversation with RIA Novosti.
He also noted that cases of visa refusals have been recorded. However, in accordance with established practice, consular departments do not provide any information about the reasons for negative decisions.
“I would like to note, however, that the consular offices of France, Italy and Spain continue to issue tourist visas to Russians,” journalists quote the Russian diplomat.
Previously Public News Service reportedthat the procedure for obtaining a Schengen visa for Russian citizens has become noticeably simplified. This was discussed in the Russian Union of Tourism Industry. The process of making an appointment at European consulates has now become more convenient.
