Metallurg beat Avangard in a KHL match

The match of the regular championship of the Continental Hockey League (KHL), in which Magnitogorsk Metallurg hosted Omsk Avangard, has ended. The result of the game was the home team’s victory with a score of 4:3 in overtime.

For Avangard, Ryan Spooner, Ivan Igumnov and Semyon Chistyakov scored goals. Danila Yurov (double), Igor Geraskin and Daniil Vovchenko scored goals for Metallurg.

This victory allowed Metallurg to consolidate its leadership in the KHL Eastern Conference standings – the team has 84 points. Avangard is two points behind and is in second place in the Eastern League table. In the next round, Metallurg will play with Admiral Vladivostok, and Avangard will meet with SKA St. Petersburg.
