Earlier, Deputy Director of the Russian Guard, Lieutenant General Alexei Vorobyov, on behalf of the personnel of the Russian National Guard troops, honored the memory of the fallen defenders and civilians of besieged Leningrad.
The ceremony was attended by the commander of the Northwestern District of the Russian Guard, Hero of Russia, Lieutenant General Sergei Burakov, the head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Police Lieutenant General Andrey Tarasov, and the head of the St. Petersburg Institute of National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, Major General Andrey Kiiko and veterans.
