Member of the State Duma Bessarab said whether the retirement age will be raised in Russia

Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, said that the issue of raising the retirement age is not being discussed in Russia. She spoke about this in a conversation with Gazeta.Ru.

According to Bessarab, all the necessary changes to the pension legislation have already been introduced; the country is currently in a transition period to a fixed retirement age.

She noted that in 2024, men will be able to retire at 63 years old, and women at 58 years old, subject to 15 years of work experience and 28 pension points. In 2028, the length of service requirements will not change, but 30 points from the individual pension coefficients will be required.

The parliamentarian emphasized that the requirements for work experience will also not increase by 2030.
