The police received a request to check the article by former assistant to the President of Russia Vladislav Surkov “The Birth of the North” for compliance with Russian legislation. This was reported TASS And “RIA News” citing sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to interlocutors, police officers are conducting a pre-investigation check in accordance with Art. 144-145 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation (for the presence or absence of elements of a crime). Exactly what theses of Surkov’s article are being discussed is not specified.

Surkov published the article “The Birth of the North” in the publication “Actual Comments” on September 27. The author discusses the idea of the “Great North” – the unity of Russia, the USA and Europe – forming a common socio-cultural space and a triune northern geopolitical cluster, where Russia will act as a co-leader of the global triumvirate.
