Lawyer Vinogradov: pensioners need to pay personal income tax and property tax

Elderly people in Russia have certain tax benefits, however, they still have to pay a number of taxes, as Vadim Vinogradov, dean of the Faculty of Law at the Higher School of Economics, explained. Prime informs about this.

For example, pensioners are required to pay personal income tax if they have sources of income, such as salary, renting out an apartment or interest on deposits. And although they are exempt from paying property taxes on one property, if they have two or more properties, they will still have to pay for all but one of their choice.

It is important to note that pensioners can enjoy land tax benefits only for plots of up to six acres. And if the plot is larger, they will have to pay for the part exceeding the specified footage.

As for transport tax, benefits depend on the region, and pensioners can only use them in certain places with certain restrictions.

Earlier it became known that expert Finogenova said that the increase in pensions would affect 3.4 million pensioners. More about this read the material Public News Service.

It was also reportedthat Russian Railways (RZD) provided passengers with the opportunity to return tickets without additional fees after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
