Kremlin: Putin’s trip to Rostov was organized promptly
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to Rostov-on-Don was agreed upon promptly and was not planned in advance, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“This was a fairly quickly coordinated trip; it was not planned in advance. On the other hand, they also take place quite regularly – these trips. The President quite regularly receives reports from our military directly on the spot,” he said.
Earlier today, the Kremlin press service reported about Putin’s visit to the headquarters of the Russian Armed Forces in Rostov-on-Don. During the trip, the President heard a report from the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, on the progress of the special operation. In addition, Putin also held meetings with other representatives of the senior leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
The head of state flew to Rostov-on-Don straight from Perm, where he spoke at the opening of the forum “Russia is a Sports Power”, held a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, met with participants in a professional boxing tournament, the Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin and General designer of UEC-Aviadvigatel JSC Alexander Inozemtsev.
