Kosachev: Sending NATO troops to Ukraine will make the West a direct party to the conflict

Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said that sending NATO troops to Ukraine would make the West a direct participant in the conflict. His words are quoted by the Parliamentary Newspaper.

The day before, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico shared that some EU and NATO countries are considering the possibility of sending their military to Ukraine.

Kosachev, commenting on Fico’s words, noted that Western countries are already taking part in the Ukrainian conflict. He emphasized that the West supplies weapons to Kyiv.

The Vice Speaker of the Federation Council recalled that NATO’s entry into the Ukrainian conflict is fraught with serious consequences.

“What they will be like is something to ask military experts and the Ministry of Defense. The final decision will remain with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” Kosachev explained.
