According to the UN, 250 million children and adolescents are not in school, 763 million children and adolescents cannot read and do not have basic knowledge of mathematics. About 4 million refugee children and adolescents are unable to attend school, and only 40% of girls in sub-Saharan Africa complete primary secondary education.

Armed conflicts, migration, climate disasters, poverty and emergencies negatively affect the overall situation in children’s primary education.
