Palestinian group Hamas kidnapped 155 Israeli hostages reports The Times of Israel with reference to a representative of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
According to him, the families of the hostages have already been informed that their relatives are in the Gas Strip.
“We will do everything possible to bring your loved ones home,” the IDF spokesman emphasized.
He also added that more than 600,000 Palestinians have already been evacuated from the Gaza Strip. At the same time, the total number of residents of the enclave is estimated at 1.1 million. Israel is preparing to launch a ground operation aimed at establishing control over this territory, as well as destroying Hamas.
The army clarified that when bombing the Gaza Strip, they try to cause “minimal harm” to civilians “in accordance with international law.”
On October 7, Hamas militants invaded Israel, accusing its authorities of oppression and violations of the rights of Palestinians. The group attacked IDF border units and entered populated areas, taking military and civilian hostages. The IDF responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, initiating large-scale bombing of the Gaza Strip. The total number of deaths during the clashes exceeded 3,800 people.
