The Irkutsk Regional Court sentenced Vladimir Evglevsky from Bratsk to 12 years in prison in a maximum security colony for the brutal murder of his partner. The man doused the woman with gasoline and set her on fire with a lighter.
According to the court, the victim’s body received burns on 90% of the surface – she died a day and a half after the quarrel with Evglevsky. The incident occurred in June 2023 in their common home in a wooden house in Bratsk.
The man said that there was a quarrel between them – his partner insulted him, humiliated him and said “hurtful words.”
In court, Evglevsky admitted his guilt. He was charged not only with murder, but also with murder with extreme cruelty and in a socially dangerous manner. The court also sentenced him to a year of restriction of freedom after his release from prison.
