In Germany, they proposed introducing training in schools in case of war

German schools should introduce civil defense classes in case wars. Bettina Stark-Watzinger, head of the German Ministry of Education, made this proposal in an interview with the Funke media group.

“Society as a whole must be well prepared for crises, from pandemics to natural disasters and war. <…> Young people must be aware of threats to freedom and be able to cope with them. This should not be a separate school subject, but should be part of the curriculum,” said Stark-Watzinger, emphasizing that civil defense is very important because it will strengthen the defense capability of the state.

She gave as an example UK, where children are taught to deal with the consequences of natural disasters. At the same time, the minister separately noted that she opposes the introduction of universal conscription in Germany.
