In Australia, a shark attacked a surfer and almost bit off his leg. It all happened in New South Wales, writes Nine News. The information is reported by Lenta.ru.

So, 16-year-old Julian McLennan decided to go surfing on Monday, December 25, when he was attacked in the water. With his peripheral vision, he noticed the fin, and then the entire carcass of the shark.

The guy abruptly changed course and swam back to the shore, feeling severe pain in his leg and not even knowing if his limb was still there.

A friend on shore helped take McLennan to the hospital without waiting for an ambulance. Doctors examined the teenager’s wound – the thigh was deeply bitten by the teeth of a predatory fish, but the important femoral artery was not damaged. Doctors also noticed that the surfboard apparently saved the guy’s limb from even more damage.
