In Altai, scientists have discovered the largest population of an endangered plant

Researchers in Altai have discovered a vast population of the endangered plant Astragalus remarkablea. This find was discovered on the territory of the Sailyugem cluster in the Bayan-Chagan tract. Information about this is shared on the website of the Sailyugem National Park.

It is noted that plant reserves were found only in three places, one of which is in Mongolia, and the other two are in the Russian Federation.

Earlier it became known that scientists have established that in the event of a nuclear war, red algae of the species Gracilaria tikvahiae will be able to survive the apocalypse and save humanity.

This type of plant will have enough sunlight to continue the process of photosynthesis. Algae will cover 45% of people’s food needs, as they are rich in proteins and other nutrients.

At the same time, they contain a large amount of iodine, so that plants can provide only 15% of the human diet. More about this read the material Public News Service.
