IDF discovers Hamas tunnel under UNRWA headquarters in Gaza

Representatives of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement that they were able to discover a tunnel of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, which was located under the central headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). It was located in the Gaza Strip. The relevant information was published on the IDF Telegram channel.

The authors of the publication also noted that, in accordance with intelligence data, the military personnel headed towards the tunnel shaft. She was found near a school affiliated with UNRWA.

IDF officials stated that it led to an underground tunnel. It was used as a Hamas military intelligence facility. It was held under the agency’s headquarters building.

It is known that the length of the tunnel was almost 700 meters, its depth was 18 meters. In addition, it was equipped with blast doors, the Israeli military noted.
