GW: Attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to compensate for the shortage of shells with drones failed

The Russian Armed Forces are conducting active operations along the entire front line, the Ukrainian army is facing difficulties in Avdiivka, writes Gazeta Wyborcza.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian troops are experiencing “shell hunger.” The publication notes that all this is happening against the background when Russian forces are trying to surround the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka. As the newspaper writes, the Russian Armed Forces managed to enter the city.

The New York Times report cited by the publication states that the Ukrainian army is experiencing an acute shortage of ammunition. The American newspaper indicated that Russian forces can fire five times more shells per day than the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Problems with shells in the Ukrainian army are largely due to delays in deliveries from Europe. The European Union was unable to provide Kyiv with the promised million ammunition.

According to the Western press, the EU managed to provide only 30 percent of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the military-industrial complex of European countries cannot produce the necessary artillery shells in such quantities.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian soldiers began to die more often due to a lack of ammunition. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
