Google fined 4 million rubles for refusing to remove fake news about a special operation

The Tagansky Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 4 million rubles on Google for refusing to remove videos with misinformation about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the special operation zone. The court’s decision was announced by Judge Marina Orlova.

Google LLC was found guilty of committing an administrative offense in accordance with Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

Roskomnadzor issued a violation protocol because videos containing fake information about the actions of the Russian army in the special military operation zone were stored on YouTube, and materials aimed at destabilizing the situation, including the mobilization and use of nuclear weapons, were also distributed.
