The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that the creation of a special economic zone (SEZ) in the Shebekinsky district will lead to a decrease in regional budget revenues, but we will carry out the president’s instructions.
During an evening live broadcast on the VKontakte social network, a woman asked the governor what the creation of a SEZ in the city of Shebekino means. According to Gladkov, this form of support for the territory promises to stimulate business development, attract investment and create new jobs.
As the governor noted, within the framework of the creation of the SEZ in Shebekino, the situation is slightly different; support will be provided to already existing enterprises, which, being under regular shelling from the Ukrainian armed forces, continue their activities. The goal is to help them reduce costs and maintain production, as well as gain a competitive advantage through tax benefits.
The peculiarity is that it is necessary to build such a system of relationships within the free economic zone so that it does not become a place for re-registration of already operating enterprises in the Belgorod region, so that the tax base as a whole does not fall.
And the budgetary sector, roads, schools, kindergartens, you know, are supported by taxes. And, of course, we understand that a free economic zone will reduce the revenue side of both the regional and local budgets, Gladkov noted.
