People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Galibin, who played the role of the Master in Vladimir Bortko’s mini-series “The Master and Margarita,” spoke about the new film adaptation of the novel. In a conversation with NSN, he said that he regretted watching Mikhail Lokshin’s film.
According to the actor, the director did not reflect the essence of Mikhail Bulgakov’s work. Galibin emphasized that in the end only the characters remained from the novel, and everything else was Lokshin’s vision. He called the picture a copy of the American blockbuster.
“I didn’t understand the director’s version, I don’t understand why the director interpreted everything exactly like that, why he added dialogue, invented scenes that are not in the novel, why he changed lines that cannot be changed: this distorts the essence of the work,” the actor noted.
Previously Public news service reported that sales of the novel “The Master and Margarita” increased 2.5 times after the film’s release. Read more about this in the proposed material.
