The ex-chairman of the government of the Samara region, Viktor Kudryashov, who was arrested on charges of abuse of power, was transferred to Moscow. About it writes “Kommersant”.
According to media reports, the former official was sent from the regional center to the capital in a carriage on February 2. He should be delivered to the Moscow detention center by mid-week.
Kudryashov was detained in mid-November 2023 and sent to a pre-trial detention center. A case was initiated against him under Article 286 of the Criminal Code (Criminal Code) of the Russian Federation (“Excess of official powers”). The publication noted that the defendant refused to testify and cooperate with the investigation.
According to investigators, he misled the President of the Russian Federation and the government of the country. It was established that Kudryashov created an organized criminal group in order to steal funds allocated from the budget for the construction of a new metro station through fraud.
