The new package of EU sanctions directed against Russia implies the expansion of restrictions on the export of goods that the Russian side needs for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Representatives of the EU Council shared the relevant information. Interfax writes about this.

The press release also said that the European Union is working to expand the list of prohibited goods that could facilitate the technological improvement of the Russian defense and security sector. It is clarified that it was decided to include components for the development and production of UAVs in this list.

Representatives of the European Commission also drew attention to the fact that, among other things, supplies to the territory of the Russian Federation of electronic transformers, static converters and inductors, which can be components of drones, were prohibited. Also, aluminum capacitors, which can be used in military applications, will no longer be supplied.

Previously Public News Service reportedthat North Korean Defense Minister Kang Sun-nam was included in the 13th package of EU sanctions against Russia. According to the European Commission, the new package includes “10 Russian companies and individuals involved in the supply of North Korean weapons to Russia, the country’s defense minister.”
