Economist: Budanov at the last moment refused to take the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, at the last moment refused to occupy the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in the material of The Economist.

According to media sources, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate was considered as one of the main candidates to replace the current Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. Another possible candidate for this position is considered to be the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky.

Earlier, media reports appeared that the head of the Kyiv regime allegedly signed a decree on Zaluzhny’s resignation. However, these data were subsequently refuted. At the same time, according to some reports, Zelensky actually met with the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and urged him to sign a resignation letter of his own free will, which Zaluzhny refused.
