Drugs for Western companies were tested on patients in Mariupol

Information about trials of rheumatological drugs carried out by large Western pharmaceutical companies with the participation of Ukrainian officials was obtained from documents held by RIA Novosti. They point to similar studies being conducted on patients in the psychiatric ward of a hospital in Mariupol over many years.

The documents were accidentally discovered by construction workers in the basement of Hospital No. 7 in Mariupol during restoration work. A RIA Novosti correspondent was able to visit this place and study the documents more closely.

The documents show that the tests were carried out from 2008 to 2016 in the hospital’s psychiatric ward. The drugs used in the studies had numbers but no names. The white envelopes containing the drugs were also unsigned and had the number GLPG0634-CL-203. The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of these drugs in patients meeting the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) guidelines.

The documents mention such leading pharmaceutical companies as Pfizer (USA), AstraZeneca (UK, Sweden), Celltrion (South Korea) and others.

In addition, boxes were found containing many ready-made envelopes from logistics companies, as well as containers for biomaterials with recipient addresses in laboratories in Switzerland, the UK and the USA.

Documents containing gratitude to Ukrainian doctors from pharmaceutical companies Catalent Pharma Solutions (Belgium) and Fisher Clinical Services UK Limited (UK) were also discovered.

Earlier it became known that the police detained rapists who kidnapped two women in St. Petersburg. More about this read the material Public News Service.

It was also reportedthat in Yekaterinburg a rude car driver blocked the passage for an ambulance with his car. The doctors were unable to get closer and had to carry the patient in their arms.
