Doctor Tanashyan spoke about whether red wine can slow down dementia

In an interview with aif.ru, Deputy Director of the Scientific Center for Neurology, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Marine Tanashyan shared her opinion on the possibility of red wine to slow down the process of dementia.

The doctor noted that red wine contains the antioxidant resveratrol, which has a positive effect on vascular diseases. However, she emphasized that drinking alcohol in any dose is harmful to the body.

The doctor recommends choosing other foods containing resveratrol, such as grapes, cocoa and nuts, instead of red wine.

Tanashyan emphasized that in the initial stages of dementia, specialized crossword puzzles are an effective means of combating the disease, as they help train various cognitive functions.
