Doctor Hrant Shekhyan, professor of the Department of Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine of the State University of Education and a famous cardiologist, expressed his opinion on the usefulness of various types of cereals. In an interview newspaper “Izvestia” he called oatmeal one of the most healthy cereals, noting its balanced composition, ease of digestion and the presence of fiber, which promotes active intestinal function.
Shekhyan also noted millet as a cereal that is easily digestible by the body due to the optimal ratio of proteins and carbohydrates, and buckwheat, known for its high iron content.
However, the doctor emphasized the importance of properly preparing the porridge, warning that adding butter, overcooked vegetables or fatty meats can turn the porridge from dietary to unhealthy.
