Director Grymov called the scandals surrounding “The Master and Margarita” a PR stunt

The scandals surrounding the film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita” are a PR campaign for the film. Director and artistic director of the Modern Theater Yuri Grymov stated this in a conversation with kp.ru.

“Remember the phrase “any mention other than an obituary is good”? PR for a film is very important because cinema is a fleeting commodity, it deteriorates quickly,” he explained.

According to Grymov, the film crew of the project is using any means to make a big box office. The director emphasized that if the film “does not collect in the first weekend,” then “it will all end.”

Previously Public news service reported that the film adaptation of the novel “The Master and Margarita” topped the box office in Russia and the CIS. Read more about this in the proposed material.
