Deputy head of the Investigative Committee department Evgeniy Sosnin was detained in Moscow
In Moscow, the deputy head of the investigative department for the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts of the city of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, Evgeniy Sosnin, was detained; the investigation is petitioning for his arrest, the press service of the Basmanny Court reported.
The material on the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for Sosnin was received by the court on October 16. The investigation charges him with causing property damage on an especially large scale (clause b, part 2, Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal participation in business activities (Article 289 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Other details of the case have not yet been disclosed. A hearing to consider the motion for suppression has not been scheduled.
October 3 Basmanny Court of Moscow in absentia arrested former deputy head of the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Tverskoy district, Dmitry Gubin, in the case of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. It was clarified that the arrest was part of a case initiated upon the receipt by the ex-head of the investigative department in the Tverskoy district of Moscow, Marat Tambiev, through an intermediary, of a particularly large bribe for performing actions in favor of the bribe-giver. On June 19, the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow recovered 1,032 bitcoins (more than 1.6 billion rubles) from Tambiev. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, he is accused of receiving bribes from hackers.
