Bulgaria will begin issuing Schengen visas to Russian citizens from April 1

Bulgaria from April 1 will begin processing and issuing to citizens for the first time Russian Federation Schengen visas. TASS shares the relevant information. Journalists referred to the country’s embassy.

“The consular service of the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate General in St. Petersburg will handle the submission of applications for Schengen visas,” representatives of the Bulgarian diplomatic mission shared information.

It is noted that tourists who managed to obtain long-term type D visas before March 31, giving the right to stay on the territory of the republic for more than 90 days, will also be able to make a short visit to other Schengen states. Embassy representatives also noted that type C visas issued before the same period will be valid as well, but they register the right to enter only Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania.

Previously Public News Service reportedthat the European Commission has planned inspections at the Polish embassies in Manila and Guangzhou after the visa scandal. The purpose of the checks is to ensure that consulates comply with EU rules on Schengen visas.
