BP: Kazakhstan extradited to Thailand a Russian suspected of extorting $50.3 thousand

Russian a citizen suspected of extorting cryptocurrency from a Russian family was extradited to Thailand. The English-language newspaper Bangkok Post reports this.

Kazakhstan transferred a 43-year-old man named Danil Ugai, the last member of the criminal group, to Thailand, where he is accused of extorting 1.8 million Thai baht ($50.3) in cryptocurrency.

According to the newspaper, five of his accomplices have already arrested on the island of Koh Samui, and Ugai (the sixth member of the group) had previously successfully escaped.

The suspected Russian citizen admitted that it was he who was mentioned in the document. By the way, the source did not specify whether he pleaded guilty to court. His involvement in the crime will be examined on the Thai island.
