The number of homeless people in Germany has increased significantly. This was largely due to the increase in refugees arriving from Ukraine. This was reported by Bild.
It is clarified that as of January 2023, about 77 thousand homeless people were registered in the state. This number is 2.5 times higher than what was recorded a year earlier. Moreover, 84% of homeless people are citizens of other states. It is also known that a third of them are children and adolescents.
“Taking into account refugees from Ukraine, many people have been added to the homeless statistics,” journalists quote representatives of the German Ministry of Social Affairs.
Among other reasons for the sharp increase in the number of homeless people in the country, department officials cited rising apartment rents, as well as tense housing markets in German cities, accompanied by rising energy costs and a lack of social housing.
Previously Public News Service reportedthat the wife of the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, Elena, called not to force refugees to return to Ukraine. According to the politician’s wife, “most of the internally displaced persons cannot return home because their home was destroyed.”
