Bastrykin called for banning the sale of SIM cards without a passport



The sale of SIM cards in non-stationary retail establishments without clients presenting a passport must be prohibited. This was stated by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.

In addition, it is necessary to improve the mechanism for protecting victims from cyber fraudsters, including with the help of banking instruments. In an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Bastykin also told on amendments prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to the law “On operational investigative activities.” Innovations will allow operational units within the framework of operational-search activities to gain access to a wide range of information transmitted via the Internet and contained in technological systems without a court decision.
