Appetite: Food photos can cause obesity

Viewing photos of junk food makes it more attractive and can lead to obesity, scientists from the Lebanese American University have found. The results of the study were published in the journal Appetite.

63 people under 24 years old took part in the new work of specialists. They were divided into two groups: the first looked at pictures of unhealthy food for 15 minutes, while the second studied photographs of nature, architecture and animals. After the allotted time, the experiment participants talked about their mood and rated their hunger.

It turned out that junk food can increase appetite even when people see it in photographs. At the same time, the level of hunger increases regardless of how full a person is.
