Russian air defense forces shot down another Ukrainian drone over the Belgorod region, reported regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.
“Our air defense system worked over the Belgorod region – an aircraft-type UAV was shot down over the village of Novaya Derevnya,” he said.
Gladkov explained that the roof and attic of a private house were damaged as a result of falling debris, but no one was injured.
The fact of interception of a Ukrainian drone near Belgorod was also confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense. “On October 14, at about 17.30 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type UAV on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped,” the department said in a statement.
The Belgorod region, like other border regions, is regularly attacked by Ukraine. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been established in the region. In addition, the region remains at an indefinite “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat.
