The share of mutual settlements between Russia and Kazakhstan in national currencies has reached 80%, said the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Trade turnover between the countries in 2023 increased by 23%, exceeding 2 trillion rubles. Kazakhstan ranks fifth among Russia’s largest trading partners.
Borodavkin emphasized that Russia has invested more than $22 billion in Kazakhstan since its independence, and taking into account Russian capital that came through offshore zones, this amount reaches approximately $55 billion.
Prior to this, the first deputy of the Center for Political Technologies Foundation, Alexei Makarkin, expressed the opinion that the appointment of the new Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, would be positive for Russia, since his leadership would not change relations between Kazakhstan and Moscow.
He also believes that the Collective Security Treaty Organization played a role in Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev maintaining power in early 2022.
It was previously reported that the income of Russian hotels last year increased by 15 percent. This growth was possible due to an increase in the average bill and employment. More about this read the material Public News Service.
