Alexander Bolshunov won the skate sprint at the Russian Championships

At the championship Russia in Malinovka (Arkhangelsk region), three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov won the freestyle sprint.

In the final race, Bolshunov achieved a result of 3 minutes 13.49 seconds, ahead of Ivan Gorbunov by 0.11 seconds, and Sergei Ustyugov by 0.96 seconds.

Among women, Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova (3.46.14) won the sprint, ahead of Elizaveta Pantrina (+1.53) and Tatyana Sorina (+2.45).

This season, Bolshunov has won all the individual races that he has started. At the recent Spartakiad of the Strongest, he won individual and team sprints, skiathlon, 10 km freestyle race and 50 km classic style marathon.
