Airplanes with Kinzhal systems begin patrolling the Black Sea
The Russian Aerospace Forces begin constant patrolling of the airspace over the Black Sea by aircraft equipped with the Kinzhal complexes. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It’s not a threat what I’m going to say now. But, on my instructions, the Russian Military Space Forces begin patrolling on a permanent basis in the neutral zone of airspace over the Black Sea,” the president said.
According to Putin, patrols will be carried out by MIG-31 aircraft armed with Kinzhal systems. They have a range of over 1000 km at Mach nine.
The Russian complex with hypersonic aeroballistic missiles “Dagger” has been on combat duty since 2017. It was first used during a special operation in Ukraine in March 2022. The mass of the missile warhead is 500 kg, and the flight range is 2000 km. In February, Rostec General Director Sergei Chemezov announced that the state corporation had increased the production volume of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile systems.
