AFP: Pakistan launched strikes on Iranian territory

The Pakistani military carried out several strikes on Iranian territory – they were directed against “anti-Pakistan” groups. This was reported by Agence France-Presse with reference to a Pakistani official.

“I can only confirm that we carried out strikes against anti-Pakistan armed groups located in Iran,” he said, emphasizing that the Pakistani authorities will soon make an official statement about the incident.

Prior to this, according to Alireza Marhamati, deputy governor of the Iranian province of Serawan bordering Pakistan for security and law enforcement, explosions occurred near Serawan: “The sound of several explosions was heard in several areas around Serawan.”
