A St. Petersburg court arrested a schoolboy for two months for arson on a railroad.

Vyborg district court St. Petersburg decided to arrest for two months Mikhail Bugaev and a schoolboy born in 2009, suspected of setting fire to a battery cabinet at a railway station.

According to the investigation, on the night of March 24, the accused, being near the Udelnaya station in the Vyborg region, attempted to set fire to a battery cabinet in order to destroy it, however, fearing being caught, they did not complete what they started.

They were detained on Monday, March 25. The sixth-grader, who was being held in the juvenile department for problematic behavior, was also arrested.

The charge was brought under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code Russian Federation, relating to “Attempted terrorist attack”. The accused will be in custody until May 24.

Earlier, police from St. Petersburg detained a student who, while registering protocols for minor offenses, informed law enforcement agencies about an alleged “threat” addressed to one of the city’s shopping centers.
